Data Visualization Zürich is an open, non-profit community for anyone involved or interested in data visualization. Our meetups cover a wide range of topics from basic concepts to best practices, case studies, tools and techniques.
We invite communicators, journalists, educators, designers, developers, statisticians, analysts, researchers, and you to join us! It doesn’t matter whether you’re a professional, hobbyist, or simply curious. This is our space to learn and share how we gain insights from and tell stories with data.
We want Data Visualization Zürich to be a productive and enjoyable event, and a safe place for all participants. We believe that an audience with different backgrounds and mindsets creates a richer experience for everyone.
To create this safe and creative environment, everyone is required to be friendly and respectful. Sustained disruption of talks or other events should be avoided. The use of non binary pronouns is encouraged. We value help and collaboration but we discourage giving unsolicited advice.
Data Visualization Zürich is dedicated to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), mental illness, socioeconomic status or background, technology choices and skills, or any other individual characteristic.
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to any individual characteristics, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, uninvited disruption of an individual’s personal space, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the organizing committee immediately. Raising a case of harassment is about your well-being and everybody else’s well-being. If someone is being harassed, it is never their fault.
We expect participants to follow these rules during all group meetings and related social events. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Participants violating these rules may be expelled from the event or the group altogether at the discretion of members of the organizing committee.
Data Visualization Zürich is organized by a small group of data visualization designers and developers at Interactive Things, a data visualization and user experience agency based in Zürich.
